The State Constitution

Maybe this is a bit off-topic for this site, but some issues are too big for arbitrary filing decisions.  But it does point to a broader issue relevant here.  In addition to all the other rights it guarantees, California’s Constitution provides the basis for the public beaches we hold so dear.  Tinkering with the basic law of the state to score petty political points is just wrong, and detracts from the overall beauty of that the document says and does.

Please vote No on Proposition 8.

Thursday a.m., January 10, 2008: This was one of three kids that failed at paddling out in the big surf, so he and a friend walked out down the jetty then entered the water from the rocks right at the break. Despite his demonstrated lack of other skills (i.e., he got pummeled), he did pretty good on the entry and didn't kill himself on the rocks. He eventually drifted in to shore and was walking out on the jetty again as I was leaving.
