Fires Burn Low

Good article in the Los Angeles Times on a dwindling number of beaches that allow fires and maintain fire pits for visitor use. The article lists the changes as being the result of the usual culprits: budget cuts and users who don’t clean-up after themselves.

Eye on the field: This was the second male swimmer to exit the water, but with age grouping and heats I'm not certain where he ended up placing in the overall event. He was only yards ahead of the third finisher at this point, and justifiably concerned about where the other gentleman was.
