Coastal access and use laws play a large part in shaping the local culture. This site is not here because the law is an end to itself, but because these laws impact every aspect of life in the coastal areas. California is a vibrant and diverse place that is home to developed resort beaches and pristine coastline bluffs, and pretty much everything in between (except glaciers, fortunately). SDRC’s events and the attitutudes of long-time Californians like MacPherson played a large role in shaping the attitudes in San Diego toward the beaches in the 20th century, and by extension, shaping the laws that now govern their use. > Posted by Chuck at 8:05 am.
