Competing Uses Studied

Conflicts between surfing and fishing near the Oceanside Pier made the Union-Tribune today in an article that also discusses the history of safety laws that currently prohibit surfing within 100 feet of that pier.  Anglers on the pier, officially named the Oceanside Municipal Fishing Pier, are reportly snagging surfers, and both sides are seeking law and enforcement changes that favor their preferred activities.
