September 14, 2006 - Possible North Coast Status ChangesCongress is currently debating federal wilderness protections for nearly 315,000 acres of California, including stretches of coastline stretching from Napa to the Oregon border. According to the Union-Tribune article “[f]ederal wilderness designations place land off-limits to development, mining, logging and, significantly, motorized vehicles and boats.
